Experience

Steve Ross, a shareholder, joined the firm in the year 2000.

His practice has focused on labor and employment law, as well as on government relations and land use issues. He has also represented several clients before the Washington State Legislature on legislative issues.

Over the past 20 years, Mr. Ross has represented individuals, non-profit organizations, public-sector unions, and small employers in a wide variety of employment matters and in employment litigation. He has represented clients in cases involving allegations of discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination and breach of employment contracts. He has an "AV" peer-review rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and in 2010 was named by Seattle Met magazine as one of Seattle's Top Lawyers in labor and employment law.

Prior to entering private law practice in 1984, Mr. Ross served as Counsel to the Washington State House of Representatives' Labor Committee in Olympia.


Community Involvement
Mr. Ross has served on the Board of Directors of Cancer Lifeline since 2003, and was board president from 2008-2010. He was founder and co-chair of Friends of Children's Hospital from 2007 to 2010, and has served on the Board of Trustees of The Little School in Bellevue since 2007. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors of Friends of the University of Washington Libraries from 2004-2010, and served on the board of the Burke-Gilman Place Public Development Authority.

Associations
Mr. Ross is a member of the Environmental and Land Use Section of the Washington State Bar Association and the Labor and Employment Law Section of the King County Bar Association. He is also an active member of Seattle's CityClub, and was a co-chair of several CityClub forums on global health and global poverty.
